Assault and Child Endangerment Charges Dismissed

Posted On: May 15th, 2014

Our client, a young man who was employed to help transport mentally retarded and developmentally disabled children recently found himself in a shocking situation. While at a house to pick up a client, a situation arose. While he felt he did nothing wrong and in fact did everything his training manual had taught him, he was charged with assault and child endangerment. His case was scheduled in Franklin County Municipal Court.

This was absolutely devastating to this young man. He was fired from his job. He loved his job and worked so incredibly hard. He cared about the people he transferred. He believed sincerely that he did everything he was taught to do. It was under these circumstances he reached out to attorney Ben Luftman. After speaking with attorney Luftman, the Columbus Criminal Defense team was hired to represent him on the case.

The first thing the LHA attorneys did was to set aside the warrant had been issued for the young man. Thereafter, we tirelessly represented our client and after six court dates convinced the prosecutor to dismiss all of the charges. The dismissal of the case, along with the subsequent sealing or expungement of his record will completely remove this unfortunate incident from his criminal background and hopefully allow him to move on with his life.
