Criminal Damaging Charge Dismissed

Posted On: June 16th, 2014

A young man in his early 20s was at a Columbus Blue Jackets game recently. He was engaging in a bit of horseplay with one of his friends in the arena while riding the elevator. The result of that horseplay left a piece of the elevator damaged and the young man charged with criminal damaging.

The young man’s father was referred to attorney Ben Luftman by another attorney. After speaking with attorney Luftman, the Columbus Criminal Defense team was hired to represent the young man on his criminal damaging case.

Attorney Luftman represented the young man at court. After six court dates, he along with the help of another attorney was able to negotiate a dismissal of the young man’s case upon his showing that he had paid for the damages to the elevator to be fixed.

The dismissal and forthcoming expungement of his criminal damaging charge will remove this charge from the young man’s background. He is looking forward to moving beyond this unfortunate result of some innocent horseplay. He did learn quite a lesson though.
