Criminal Damaging Charge Dismissed

Posted On: March 2nd, 2015

A series of uncharacteristic and poor choices recently resulted in a young man in his mid-30s being charged with criminal damaging. His case was originally scheduled in Grove City Mayor’s Court. He was very concerned. He had a good job and believed a conviction could cost him that job and potential opportunities to advance. After doing some research, he picked up the phone and contacted attorney Ben Luftman. After speaking with attorney Luftman, the Columbus Criminal Defense team was hired to represent him on the criminal damaging case.

The attorneys with LHA represented our client on his case. After being unable to reach an agreement in Grove City Mayor’s Court, we transferred the case to Franklin County Municipal Court.

After 5 court dates in Franklin County Municipal Court, the prosecutor agreed to dismiss the criminal damaging case against our client upon his agreement to pay court costs. The dismissal and the subsequent expungement or sealing of our client’s record will completely remove this criminal damaging case from his criminal background. It means that he will be able to keep his job, confidently pursue advancements in the future and move on from a very regrettable incident.
