Drug Related OVI & Child Endangerment Reduced to Physical Control & Disorderly Conduct

Posted On: May 27th, 2015

Columbus criminal defense attorneys were recently contacted to represent a client arrested and charged in Perry County with 1st Degree Misdemeanor Drug Related OVI and 1st Degree Misdemeanor Child Endangerment. Our client was pulled over for a minor traffic violation with her 2-year-old child in the car and suspected of driving while under the influence of marijuana. The officer requested our client to do a field sobriety test and after performing the field sobriety test the officer decided our client failed and arrested her on the above charges.

Our client was taken to the police station where she was given a blood test to determine what type and how much of any alleged drugs were in her system. After contacting Columbus criminal defense attorneys to represent her against these charges it was discovered the blood test was inaccurately administered and excluded from evidence as part of the case against our client. Due to lack of evidence against our client, our attorneys successfully negotiated reduced charges of Physical Control and Disorderly Conduct with the District Attorney. This outcome was very important to our client as it did not impact her parental relationship with her child.
