Felony Theft Reduced to Misdemeanor

Posted On: April 16th, 2013

A gentleman in his thirties had no prior criminal convictions. First, he was charged and pled guilty to a carrying concealed weapons charge and was placed on felony probation. Next, he was charged with a felony theft charge and probation was continued while that charge was pending. Last, he was charged with a felony improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle.

If convicted, our client was facing the potential of significant prison time. Essentially he was charged with a gun offense, while on probation for a gun offense.

This gentleman was referred to the Columbus Criminal Defense team for help by a friend who had been previously represented. Attorneys with LHA represented the client and through multiple court dates and intense negotiation was able to get the felony theft charge reduced to a misdemeanor. More importantly to his client, we were able to get his probation continued and keep him out of prison.
