Man Passed Out At OSU Sees Dismissal Of Underage Consumption Of Alcohol Charge

Posted On: December 10th, 2015

The criminal and DUI attorneys at Luftman, Heck & Associates often see underage and college crimes in and around the Columbus area. Recently, a 20-year-old man was arrested on The Ohio State University campus while visiting friends attending the university. The man was found unconscious in a yard and vomiting uncontrollably. When prompted by campus police officers to present identification, the man mistakenly handed over his fake ID. He was immediately charged with possession of a fake ID and underage consumption of alcohol as an unfortunate consequence.

The man, originally from Port Clinton, Ohio, was seeking employment with the Coast Guard during the time of this serious offense. Overwhelmingly concerned that an underage consumption of alcohol charge would make this extremely difficult, the man took his concerns to the Columbus DUI attorneys at LHA .

We eased the concerns of the young man and fought diligently for his client’s access into the Coast Guard. In one court appearance, we were successful in dismissing his charges in exchange for enrollment in an underage drinking course and completion of 30 hours of community service. Our client will have no legal obstacles stopping him from successfully joining the Coast Guard.
