Non-Citizen with Warrant for Arrest & Driving Without License, Dismissed

Posted On: June 2nd, 2015

Columbus criminal defense attorneys were recently contacted by a gentleman in the Columbus area from another country arrested and charged with Minor Misdemeanor Driving Without a License. Our client was in the United States on a working Visa. While our client was awaiting the outcome from this case he was pulled over and it was discovered there was a warrant out for his arrest from the first case. He was arrested and charged with Minor Misdemeanor Driving with a Suspended License.

Our client was in the process of pursuing citizenship naturalization and conviction of these charges would impede his ability to successfully complete this process. Our client also faced points on his driving record that would increase his insurance rates along with the potential for deportation and refusal back into the United States after his work visa expired. Columbus criminal defense attorneys recognized the importance of the concerns our client had in this case and worked hard to successfully negotiate on behalf of our client the dismissal of both charges. Both cases against our client were dismissed and he was able to avoid jail time, have no points on his driving record and have no negative impact on his naturalization process.
