Commercial Driver’s Theft Charge Dismissed

A truck driver who was passing through Columbus made a very poor choice in judgment recently and tried to take some items from a local store. He got caught. When questioned, he admitted what he had done. He was charged with theft. His case was scheduled in Franklin County Municipal Court.

Ultimately, the prosecutor’s agreed to dismiss the case upon the gentleman’s payment of court costs and attendance at an anti-theft class. The truck driver was grateful that he never had to appear in court.

Also, with the dismissal of the theft case and the subsequent expungement, or sealing of the record of the case, it will soon be removed from his criminal background.
