Construction Zone Speeding Ticket Reduced

Posted On: February 10th, 2014

A businesswoman was driving through an area on Interstate 70 near downtown that was marked as a construction zone. A Columbus traffic enforcement police officer pulled her over and said she was speeding. The officer issued her a construction zone speeding ticket, which can be penalized with double the usual speeding fines plus points on the person’s driver’s license.

The businesswoman was concerned about the effects the ticket would have on her career. She runs a business with many vehicles insured in her name, and the speeding ticket might have caused her insurance company to raise her rates.

She called the Columbus Criminal Defense team for help. At trial, we were able to negotiate a reduction of the construction zone speeding ticket to a no-point violation.
