A young gentleman in his late 20s was a passenger in a vehicle that was pulled over for an expired tag violation. He and the driver were asked for their IDs. They were then pulled out of the vehicle and patted down. Nothing was found. The police then called the K-9 unit. The police found drug paraphernalia and cocaine in the vehicle. The young man insisted that he had no knowledge of drugs in the vehicle and that they were not his. He was charged with felony drug possession and released.
This young man was now faced with a potential felony drug conviction on his record and an additional 6-month to 5-year license suspension. He was terrified. This could destroy his promising career in the real estate business before it even had a chance to take off.
