Felony Drug Possession Reduced to Misdemeanor

Posted On: April 28th, 2014

A young lady in her mid-20s found herself in an incredibly scary situation. After a series of circumstances, she was charged with felony drug possession. Her case was initially scheduled in Franklin County Municipal Court. If convicted, she was facing the potential of jail, a license suspension of six months to five years and the likelihood of having a felony drug possession conviction on her public record. Anyone doing a background check would be able to see the case and result.

The young lady was shaken. She composed herself and began researching attorneys online. After speaking with attorney Ben Luftman, the Columbus Criminal Defense team was hired to represent her on the case. Attorneys with LHA represented the young lady on her felony drug possession case. Ultimately, we were able to get the felony charge reduced to a misdemeanor. The license suspension was avoided. The young lady was required to do drug counseling, but after finishing, her misdemeanor charge would be dismissed. After dismissing the case, we will be able to come back and expunge or seal the record of the case and it will be completely removed from her criminal background.
