Felony Theft Reduced to Misdemeanor

Posted On: June 30th, 2014

A gentleman who owned a contractor business found himself in a dispute with an individual he had contracted to do house repair. As a result, he was charged with a felony theft charge in Franklin County Common Pleas Court.

After researching local criminal defense attorneys online, the gentleman reached out to attorney Ben Luftman. After meeting attorney Luftman, the contractor hired the Columbus Criminal Defense team to represent him on the felony theft charge.

Attorneys with LHA represented our client in his case. This case took over a year and multiple court dates. Ultimately, we negotiated a resolution where the prosecutor agreed to reduce the felony theft charge to a misdemeanor theft charge.

This resolution keeps a felony conviction off his record. The judge did not impose any jail time or probation on the case. Our client will be eligible to seal or expunge the record of the case in one year and remove it from his criminal background.
