A Reynoldsburg Police Department officer was on patrol one recent evening when he stopped a young lady for speeding. After running her license, the police officer saw that she had previously failed to pay a reinstatement fee. He then approached her window and, after doing so, smelled an odor of alcohol. He asked if she had been drinking. She said she had. He then asked her to get out of her car and perform the roadside field sobriety tests. She agreed to do them. After finishing, she was arrested and charged with a first offense OVI / DUI.
The driver was taken back to the Reynoldsburg Police Department and asked to take a breath test. She refused. After refusing, the young lady was placed under an administrative license suspension. Usually, her case would be scheduled for arraignment in Reynoldsburg Mayor’s Court. However, the officer decided to file the charges in Franklin County Municipal Court.
