A 25-year-old man from Licking County was faced with up to 36 months in jail, when he was charged with
trafficking marijuana and cocaine, both 4th degree felonies. Having previous criminal history, he contacted attorney Chase Mallory at Luftman, Heck & Associates for help. Chase got the charges amended to a 5th degree felony and asked for treatment in lieu of conviction. The restrictions were he must not get into trouble within the next year in order for his charge to be expunged from his record. Our client, in trade school for welding, was then given substance abuse counseling. Our client who was happy to receive no jail time in his case. We also got his prior charges of multiple misdemeanors dismissed.
