First Ohio OVI Offense Is Reduced For Man In Franklin County

Posted On: July 29th, 2016

Recently, a 30-year-old construction worker was stopped by the police in Franklin County, who determined that he was above the legal limit to drive; therefore, the officers charged the man with his first Ohio OVI offense. Since his profession largely required driving between job sites, he was understandably nervous about the negative consequences an OVI conviction would create, most importantly losing his driving privileges so he contacted the OVI defense team at Luftman, Heck & Associates to discuss his options.

The experienced OVI lawyers with LHA did not want to see the man lose his job as a result of this transgression and worked to reduce the impact to his license. With this goal in mind, we entered a not guilty plea on behalf of his client and we arranged to have his client’s OVI charge reduced to a failing to maintain control violation; therefore, the man would not be subjected to a license suspension or need to participate in a driver intervention program. Ultimately, the man was very pleased to continue driving and avoid a career-ending OVI conviction.
