Domestic Violence Charge Dismissed for Man in Franklin County

Posted On: June 10th, 2016

Accusations involving domestic violence are very distressing and recently it was no different for a man in Franklin County. Evidently, neighbors called the police to report an intense argument at the man’s home and upon their arrival, the man’s wife alleged that she had been struck. Since the husband was not present at the time, the officers issued a warrant for his arrest based on a charge for domestic violence. Once he learned of the charges against him, the man became seriously worried about spending time in jail and having a criminal record despite vehemently maintaining his innocence. He immediately began searching for serious legal representation to combat these allegations and came to the Ohio criminal defense attorneys at Luftman, Heck & Associates.

Attorneys with LHA took the man’s case and began working to have the arrest warrant removed without the need for him to spend any time in jail. After the warrant was dismissed, we entered a not guilty plea on behalf of this client and started preparing to defend him during a trial. Prior to the start of the trial, we negotiated with the prosecution to dismiss the domestic violence charge based on his client’s completion of an anger management program. This outcome greatly pleased the client, who was able to avoid a permanent criminal record so he could move on with his life.
