Student’s Domestic Violence and Assault Charges Dismissed

Posted On: August 20th, 2014

A young student and mother in her early 30s found herself in an extremely sensitive situation recently. After an argument with her husband, the police were called. After speaking with the police, she was arrested and found herself charged with domestic violence and assault in Franklin County Municipal Court.

At this point in time, a number of emotions were overwhelming her. Ultimately, she knew that she was not guilty of the domestic violence and assault charges, and there was no way she would allow herself to be convicted of either. She proceeded to do a great deal of internet research in determining what attorney she was going to hire to represent her. After speaking with attorney Ben Luftman, the Columbus Criminal Defense team was hired to represent her on the case.

Attorneys with LHA represented the young mother on her case. Ultimately, we negotiated a dismissal of the domestic violence and assault case. The dismissal, along with the subsequent expungement or sealing of the young student’s record will permanently remove the case from her criminal background and allow her to pursue all of her professional goals.
