If you have been found to have violated a driver’s license restriction such as failing to wear corrective lenses, mechanical control devices, or driving at night when you are only permitted to drive during the daytime, your driver’s license may be suspended. Under Ohio Revised Code Section 4507.14, the length of suspension is six (6) months effective on the 31st day following the date of suspension notification.
You may request an administrative hearing by writing to the BMV within 30 days of the date of the suspension notice. We recommend that you have an experienced Columbus driving under suspension lawyer (DUS) on your side to defend your driving privileges.
Typically your driver’s license will be reinstated after the completion of the suspension period once you pay the reinstatement fee.
