The official start of summer – Memorial Day Weekend – has finally arrived! Queue backyard cookouts, sunshine and relaxing outside because the summer of 2013 is about to begin! For many of us, Memorial Day weekend will involve enjoying tasty alcoholic beverages as we spend time with friends and family.
As you prepare for your Memorial Day festivities, keep in mind that local as well as state police will be keeping a watchful eye on roads and highways. The following location has been announced as a OVI sobriety checkpoint in Franklin County:
- Prairie Township: Norton Road, south of West Broad Street. The Franklin County DUI Task Force will be in place at this location, from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m.
DUI / OVI sobriety checkpoints entail police officers pulling over and inspecting any vehicle that passes through the area that they are watching.
If you decide to drink this weekend, please don’t get behind the wheel. Find a designated driver or call a cab if you are too intoxicated to drive. If you do encounter legal trouble, whether it’s an OVI / DUI charge or a traffic ticket, remember that you can always call the Columbus Criminal Attorneys anytime, night or day – (614) 500-2826.
