Endangering Children Charge Dismissed

Posted On: June 4th, 2015

A mother had a lapse in judgment recently where she left her young child sleeping and went out for one hour. While she was gone, her child woke up and left the house and was found down the street. She was found and unhurt. The police were dispatched and went to the mother’s home. After speaking with her, they charged her with child endangerment. Her case was then scheduled for arraignment in Franklin County Municipal Court.

The young mother was going through a range of emotions and was extremely emotional about the entire ordeal. She was extremely afraid what would happen to her and the thought of having a child endangering charge on her record for the rest of her life was overwhelming. Her husband researched attorneys online and spoke with attorney Ben Luftman. After speaking with attorney Luftman, the Columbus Criminal Defense team was hired to represent the young mother on her case.

Attorneys with LHA represented the client through 6 court dates. Ultimately, we were able to negotiate the dismissal of the case for our client’s agreement to complete parenting classes and pay court costs. She happily agreed to do so. The dismissal and the subsequent expungement or sealing of the record of our client’s case will completely remove the record of the case from her criminal background.
