Public Indecency Conviction Avoided

Posted On: July 3rd, 2013

A gentleman in his forties was charged with public indecency. He was understandably quite concerned about having a conviction on his record. He is currently a professional student and is going to graduate in the near future. A public indecency conviction could cause him extreme difficulty in gaining employment once he graduates.

This gentleman researched all of these issues online and contacted a number of attorneys to discuss his options. After speaking extensively with attorney Ben Luftman, this gentleman hired the Columbus Criminal Defense team to represent him on the case.

Attorneys with LHA appeared on our client’s behalf at court and over multiple court dates discussed the issues the prosecutor would ultimately have proving the case. The prosecutor ultimately agreed and offered to reduce the charge to a lesser disorderly conduct offense.

The reduction to the lesser offense keeps the public indecency charge off our client’s record and the subsequent expungement or sealing of the record will permanently remove the case and allow our client to move on from what could have been a life-changing conviction.
