Soliciting Charge Dismissed

Posted On: July 18th, 2014

A gentleman in his early 30s recently found himself charged with soliciting  in Franklin County Municipal Court.  Having never been charged with a criminal offense, he was naturally quite concerned about the charge, the penalties and the effect it could have on his background. He knew that he had to try everything he could to make sure the soliciting charge did not go on his record. He reached out to attorney Ben Luftman to discuss his options. After speaking with attorney Luftman, the Columbus Criminal Defense team was hired to represent him on the case.

Attorneys with LHA represented our client in his soliciting case. A discovery motion was filed with the clerk of court and prosecutor and a copy of the report given to our client to review. After reviewing the report, we discussed the issues with our client and spoke with prosecutor. After speaking with the prosecutor, an offer was made to dismiss the case upon our client’s payment of court costs and attendance at an educational program.

The dismissal and subsequent expungement or sealing of the gentleman’s record will remove the soliciting charge from his criminal background. Afterward, he will legally have a clean slate.
