Theft Charge Dismissed For Woman Seeking U.S. Citizenship

Posted On: December 8th, 2015

The attorneys with LHA recently represented a middle-aged woman after she was charged with shoplifting from a department store in Columbus. The woman was not a United States citizen but was seeking citizenship in the very near future. However, the woman knew that her request would likely not happen with a shoplifting conviction on her record. She turned to Luftman, Heck & Associates for support with the legal implications she was facing.

We were positive advocates for the woman and fought ardently on her behalf. In order to fight these charges against his client, we negotiated with the prosecutor. In response to his strong negotiations, we achieved a much desired one-day course as long as she agreed to stay out of the store. In exchange for payment of court costs our client’s charge was dismissed.
